According to the national measurement regulations, the gas meter used by natural gas residential users is a membrane gas meter with natural gas as the medium. Because the membrane gas meter has the advantages of accurate measurement, strong stability, good sealing, safety and reliability, it is widely used. Among them, the dual display IC card domestic membrane gas meter is very suitable for residential users. It is mainly composed of mechanical counter (word wheel counting system) and electronic counter (IC card billing system). Through the dual display, users can clearly grasp the gas consumption and the remaining gas volume of IC card.

Like the mandatory scrapping of cars when driving to the specified mileage, national regulations also stipulate the service life of gas meters, and the reason is the same: it is for safety! According to the verification regulation of membrane gas meters jjg577-94, the service life of gas meters with natural gas as medium is ten years, and they shall be forcibly scrapped and replaced at the expiration.

If you continue to use the expired gas meter, what problems will occur?

1. Prone to gas leakage: if the gas meter is out of service, there will be potential safety hazards such as aging of sealing filler and film on the table body, loss of mechanical firmware, resulting in gas leakage and safety accidents.

2. Increase in failure rate: the overdue use of the gas meter is easy to cause abnormal valve closing of the safety shut-off valve or failure to close the valve when the gas meter is abnormal, affecting the normal gas consumption. In particular, if the shut-off valve cannot be closed when the gas meter is abnormal, the gas meter cannot be safely cut off and protected at the first time, and there are safety risks.

3. There will be no counting phenomenon of passing gas: the mechanical counter (word wheel) of the gas meter displays the gas consumption, and the electronic counting part of the IC card displays the gas balance in the IC card. Under normal circumstances, if the gas consumption does not count (i.e. the word wheel is counting, but the IC card does not deduct the number), the shut-off valve will cut off automatically. However, if the gas meter is used beyond the time limit and the signal sensor is aging, the shut-off valve cannot cut off automatically, which will make the user mistakenly think that there is still gas in the IC card, but in fact, the IC card has been "overdrawn". If this happens, the user needs to pay the gas fee according to the actual gas consumption (subject to the number of rounds of the gas meter).
